From the Boardroom to the Kitchen Table: Why This is My Best Office Yet

Over the years, I’ve worked in a lot of different spaces boardrooms, cramped cubicles, makeshift desks tucked into corners. No matter where I was, I always found a spot for a few photos of my wife and kids. Those pictures kept me grounded, little reminders of why I worked so hard.

But nothing compares to the “office” I have now: my own kitchen table.

This is where Forge & Freedom is taking shape. My laptop sits in front of me, a steaming mug of coffee within reach, and behind the screen is a full wall of family photos. It’s not just a collage of the beautiful faces that make up my family, it’s a daily reminder of everything that matters most. Every late night and every bold step forward comes back to them and to the life we’re building together.

Working from home has taught me something I didn’t fully appreciate before: the best office isn’t about the view outside the window or the size of the conference table. It’s about the clarity it gives you. Here, surrounded by the people I love most, my “why” is crystal clear.

Building Forge & Freedom isn’t just about starting a business. It’s about creating something I’m passionate about... something that energizes me, so I can take care of the people who depend on me. It’s about forging a life that feels true to who I am, not just what a job description says I should be.

I’ve learned that when you find what you love and give yourself permission to pursue it, work stops feeling like a grind. It becomes purpose. And that purpose fuels you through the late nights, the risks, and the uncertainty.

A Reminder for Anyone on the Fence

If you’re standing at a crossroads debating a new idea, a side hustle, or a leap into the unknown here’s my advice: don’t lose sight of your “why.” Find what you love, build what excites you, and never forget who you’re doing it for.

Because when you do, even a kitchen table can become the best office you’ve ever had.

Your Turn

Where’s the best “office” you’ve ever worked from, whether it’s a corner suite, a cozy coffee shop, or your own kitchen table? Share your story in the comments. I’d love to hear how you’ve built a space that keeps your purpose front and center.
